Here we have an extremely rare three volume set of 1882 “The History of The Country Palatine and City of Chester” written by George Ormerod, with this being the 2nd Edition which was revised by Thomas Helsby, London, George Routledge and Sons.

The condition of these externally I would describe as in need of attention, and it’s clear that these are well aged and have been well-used however this adds to their charm. They are some of the biggest books I have ever seen, with each one weighing in at approximately 10KG. You will be able to see from the pictures that the overall condition of the books and I will say that these have the top of the book edges gilded in gold which I will be adding soon to the photographs.
